Altered Canvas Wedding Decor Sign

Hi there!  I am here today for ScraPerfect with a project that I just finished for my daughter who recently got engaged.  I have altered a canvas that can be used as decor for the wedding and also a keepsake.  Everyone knows that the Best Glue Ever is the quick stick for paper crafting, but did you know you can also use it on heavier embellishments?  The Best Glue Ever was the only adhesive that was necessary to complete this project.  Of course I always have the No Clog Writing Cap on my bottle to ensure an even application and help to use only the smallest amount of adhesive possible.  When you see the small embellishments on my canvas, I used my favorite pick up tool to place them, Embellie Gellie.  I hope you like my canvas:

I started this project by painting the canvas taupe and once dry, adding a layer of pearlizing medium for some shimmer.  I then stenciled the Mr. & Mrs. in black paint and when dry, went around the perimeter of it with a layer of taupe for dimension.

After painting, I applied tiny of dots of the Best Glue Ever around the perimeter of the stenciled area. Then I placed ivory flat back pearls on the glue dots with Embellie Gellie.

Now I attached some trims to my canvas.  With a small line of the Best Glue Ever, I secured some taupe ostrich feather trim to the bottom back of the canvas hanging down.  I went around the outside edge with some gimp braided trim which gives a clean look.  I repeated that around the inside edge of the canvas with gimp braided trim.  You would be surprised, but a small line of glue holds this trim down very well!. I also added a row of the ivory flat back pearls all the way around the inside of the canvas for an elegant look.

I also wanted this canvas to have a vintage feel, so I added a vintage applique (that I cut up and used on the top corners) and an applique with lots of pretty dangling pearls. For an added touch, I added an ivory tassel to the back of the dangling pearl applique.

 I added the ribbon pieces to the back of the canvas, tied, a bow, and the adhered some ivory mini rosettes to the pretty white satin ribbon.  I also used some tulle and a larger rosette and attached it to the center of the bow.  I also added some small ivory pearl heart embellishments to the ribbon tails for a extra touch.

This canvas will be carried down the aisle after the ceremony, hang on the bride and groom chairs at the reception, and could even be hung in their home.  Thanks for stopping by today, please take a moment to subscribe and leave a comment.

Stunning Shabby Chic Mask

Hello everyone, Kim back again today to share another project I created with amazing products from
ScraPerfect. I decided to challenge myself to find as many different items to test with the Best Glue Ever, and this glue really was the star of this project!  I took a white, thin, plastic mask that I got on clearance at my local craft store and as many things I could find and started gluing.  This is what I ended up with:

I turned this simple mask into an ivory and white,  shabby chic treasure, I love the way it came out!  Normally, I would have had to use a few different types of glue to adhere all of these materials, but the Best Glue Ever with the No Clog Writing Cap proved their worth!  This duo is a must have for every crafter, especially since they will last forever.  The only thing I did with the BGE was to make glue dots (medium size) for heavier items and only used a fine line for the lighter items.  Either way, I waited a few minutes before placing the item down.  Here are some close up photos of my mask so you can see the various weights and textures that I used on it.

You can see that I used the Best Glue Ever on: laces, a piece of a collar, pearl trim, braided trim, marabou feather trim, ivory peacock feathers, seam binding, and a rosette with a tiny pearls in the center. The

Best Glue Ever was able to handle all these materials and everything is on my mask very sturdy.

I had to use this piece of vintage gold and rhinestone bling on this project, don't you love it?  I made a few small glue dots from the Best Glue Ever and placed them on the back of the bling piece and they worked like a charm!  I also used the glue dots to secure each individual ivory peacock feather and string of pearls or seam binding.

I urge you to give this awesome product, the Best Glue Ever, a test for yourself...you won't be sorry.  And remember, it's not just for paper crafting.  So get your masks out, gather all of your trims and bling and try one of these too!  Here's a final look at my mask:

Shabby Chic/Victorian Christmas Stocking

Hi there!  I am coming to you today to share a stocking that I designed with products from the Creating With Details amazing store.  I had so much fun making this stocking as it will be a gift for a very special person in my life, my biological Mom.  She is elegant, classy, and beautiful inside and out and this project is a perfect reflection of her in my eyes. I have always loved the black and ivory combination and hope you like it too!

I started out using one of the canvas stockings carried in the store: Creating With Details Store

I added the black flatback pearl trim around the edge.  The scalloped lace was glued to the inside top of the stocking (this could also have been sewed).  The black and ivory laces were adhered to the cuff of the stocking next.  Then I fixed the applique slightly under the cuff and cut out the black flower from lace and glued it and the bling in the center of the flower.  I attached 3 snowflake pieces of bling on the toe of the stocking.  On the top of the stocking in the center of the black lace, I added a resin frame with black and white cameo.  Two large pearl embellishments were added to either side of the cameo on the black lace, as well as smaller pearls and black rhinestones in various places.  To embellish the top of the stocking where you hang it, I added pieces of ivory seam binding, black lace,ivory organza ribbon, a white tassel,  leftover pieces from the applique, a black teardrop rhinestone, 3 acrylic wheat sprays, and a black organza flower.  Here is a close up of the top:
