Shabby Chic/Victorian Christmas Stocking

Hi there!  I am coming to you today to share a stocking that I designed with products from the Creating With Details amazing store.  I had so much fun making this stocking as it will be a gift for a very special person in my life, my biological Mom.  She is elegant, classy, and beautiful inside and out and this project is a perfect reflection of her in my eyes. I have always loved the black and ivory combination and hope you like it too!

I started out using one of the canvas stockings carried in the store: Creating With Details Store

I added the black flatback pearl trim around the edge.  The scalloped lace was glued to the inside top of the stocking (this could also have been sewed).  The black and ivory laces were adhered to the cuff of the stocking next.  Then I fixed the applique slightly under the cuff and cut out the black flower from lace and glued it and the bling in the center of the flower.  I attached 3 snowflake pieces of bling on the toe of the stocking.  On the top of the stocking in the center of the black lace, I added a resin frame with black and white cameo.  Two large pearl embellishments were added to either side of the cameo on the black lace, as well as smaller pearls and black rhinestones in various places.  To embellish the top of the stocking where you hang it, I added pieces of ivory seam binding, black lace, ivory organza ribbon, a white tassel,  leftover pieces from the applique, a black teardrop rhinestone, 3 acrylic wheat sprays, and a black organza flower.  Here is a close up of the top:

Here is how I finished the back of the stocking:

Creative Colors Challenge #26

Hi bloggers and crafty friends!  I am coming to you today to share my latest card for the Creative Colors Card Challenge.  We would love for you to play along with us, here is where to find it:
Creative Colors Challenge

As this challenge is the last for the year, our palette consists of holiday colors.  We had to use vintage green, deep red, white, and add glitter.  Here is the inspiration photo for our color palette:

Our sponsor for this challenge is DRS Designs and I picked a very pretty digi of a berry wreath.

Here is my card:

I layered printed card stock from The Paper Studio, 2 of the same Sissix die, white paper doilies, and then  two of the images from DRS Designs.  One was adhered directly to the card and the second was put on top of it with foam tape for dimension.  I colored some of the berries deep red and then added red stickles from my personal stash on top of them.  I used glossy accents on some of the berries and used Barbara Trombley's Ultra Fine Glitter #26 Angel Dust on top of those.  I added 2 small pieces of white lace in the corners and added white resin snowflakes on top of them. I glued white braided trim around all four corners and sprayed that with Tattered Angels Caper Green Glimmer Mist.  I made the bow with hunter green gross grain ribbon, a piece of lace that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Chalkboard Medallion, some ivory seam binding that was also sprayed, and a twig with white berries. I added 2 red buttons and three pieces of snowflake rhinestone and pearl bling to the underside of the bow.  The flowers are from the Secret Garden and were white, I painted them with Radiant Pearls Crimson Nights, added glitter when they were wet.  When dry, I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Barn Red Glimmer Mist.

I hope you enjoy my creation, please feel free to leave me a comment.  I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season!  Thank you all for the support you have shown me, and I look forward to sharing more with you from the Creative Colors Challenge in January!

Kim Norman

Shabby Vintage Card for Creating With Details

I am so excited to share this card with all of you as it marks the start of the Christmas season.  I just love so many of the products in the Creating With Details store and had such a great time pulling all of these items together to design a vintage inspired shabby Christmas Card.  I love all things vintage and the image from this Pion paper just spoke to me.  Here is my card:

Here is a close up of the embellishments on the bottom corner of the card:

I layered the shiny gold card stock, then the navy blue, the paper doily (cut in half), and then the image from the Pion paper (I distressed the edges with navy ink).  I then hot glued the lavender venise lace around all four edges of the card.  I then added the medallion trim on the 2 side edges of the card and glued a strand of white flatback pearls on top of that.  Next, I adhered the snowflake bling and flowers to the top left corner of the card.  I glued down the 2 leaf appliques to the bottom of the right hand corner of the card.  This was followed by adding the flowers and snowflake bling, and acrylic wheat sprays.  I hit the edges of the flowers with the navy ink as well.  My last step was to put some glossy accents on the flowers and around the image and then sprinkled the Twinkle Dust on for a more magical feel.

The snowflake bling, flowers, Melissa Frances paper doilies, and all papers were all from my stash, but the rest of the yummies are from the store:

Venise Lace Trim
Blue Acrylic Wheat Spray
Medallion Lace
Leaf Appliques- New and Available Soon!
Twinkle Dust- New and available Soon!

I hope this card puts you in the Christmas spirit!  Please leave me a comment and thanks for stopping by, see you all next Friday with my next project.

Creative Colors Challenge #25

Hi bloggers and crafty friends!  I am sharing with you today another creation that I designed for the Creative Colors Challenge.  For this challenge, this was our inspiration photo:

We had to use holiday green, holiday red, golden, and use embossing.  If you want to play along with this challenge, you can find it at: http://creativecolorschallenge.blogspot.com/   Please join us!

The sponsor for this challenge is: http://robynsfetish.com/shop/  I love her digis!

Here is what I came up with:

Here is a close up of what I did with the digi of the presents:

I started by layering green and gold polka dot paper, then gold shiny paper, and then the printed gift paper.
I stamped the words Merry Christmas and embossed with red glitter embossing powder.  I used foam tape to give it dimension when I secured it to the gold paper.  I then used vintage red ribbon under that.  I added the red bow with gold beads, white marabou feather trim, and a big red flower to the top of the card.  On the bottom, I colored the digis with markers using colors to match the printed paper.  I added pearl trim, pink bling, brown  ribbon, a red wheat spray and tiny red flowers as embellishments.
Most of the items I used were from my personal stash, but the following are from:
Small Red Flowers- Secret Garden
Big Red Flower- La liberi
Printed Paper- Kringle and Co.  Gift Wrapping Room by American Crafts
Red Wheat Spray and Marabou Feathers- Creating With Details

I had a great time making this one and hope you like it!  Please leave me a comment and play along in this challenge.
