My First Creation for Simply Too Create

Hi everyone, I am excited to announce that I am a part of the Simply Too Create Team for 2019!  I have made a card with a digi for my first project and am excited to share it with you.  Here is what I created:

I started with a blank ivory card and an image, which I stamped with black Staz On ink.  Then I colored and fussy cut the image. I sprayed the blank card with a Tattered Angels spray. I then used Twinkles paint by Deco Art over the image and set aside to dry.  I grabbed a vintage doily from my stash and attached it to the card with the Best Glue Ever by ScraPerfect.  As embellishments, I added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and small pink bling to the image.  I attached the image with foam pop dots from my stash.  I also added a bow from organza ribbon from the Dollar Tree with a pearl center.  I secured this with hot glue. A chipboard quote from Tim Holz finished my card off with the sentiment which was attached with hot glue. I was inspired to select this image by the show "Outlander" and am pleased with how it turned out.

Thank you for stopping by, please be sure to subscribe to the Simply Create Too blog as well as mine.  Check back every other month on the 4th to see my creations.  I wish you all to have a safe and blessed New Year!

See You Soon,
Kim

Witchy Fun!

Hello!  I am here today to share with you a little Halloween project that I made with some of the wonderful products from ScraPerfect.  This is the top half of my creation, keep reading to see the rest...

I started out with a white five by seven canvas, which I painted a coat of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in silver on.  I also painted a paper mache star black and added the Glimmer Glam and a few spritzes of white spray on it too.

Using my machine, I cut out the die cut design and used a very small amount of adhesive to attach it to the canvas. With the Best Glue Ever, you truly on need the tiniest dot.  To help ensure you don't waste glue, attach the No Clog Writing Cap to the top of the bottle.  When you are done and put the top for the writing cap on, it will keep your glue bottle from clogging too!

I adhered the die cut to the canvas and then added a large glue dot to the top in the center.  I tied some black lace and gingham ribbon in a knot and put it on top of the glue dot, pressing lightly.  For further embellishment, I tied some black and white bakers twine through the holes of a button and added that to a rosette, which I attached to the center of the bow.  I added some Dew Drops from The Robins Nest to the canvas as embellishment too using Embellie Gellie.  I actually misplaced the stick that came in the package, but never fear!  I grabbed another stick from my stash and just made another one, easily possible because of the generous amount in the package.

The canvas was now ready for the star, which I planned to dangle from the bottom with bakers twine.  But first, I attached another rosette to the center with an embellished button.  I then embellished it with more Dew Drops.  I added 2 black tassels and some white eyelash trim to dangle from the bottom of the star.
I used a medium sized glue dot to attach the dangling star to the canvas to make one piece.
My final step is always to give my messy hands a few spritzes of the non toxic Best Cleaner Ever.

I really had fun with this home decor piece that I made for Halloween, here is a close up of the finished star:

And here is what the finished product looks like, now all I have to do is decide where to hang it! I hope you like it:

Creative Colors Challenge #26

Hi bloggers and crafty friends!  I am coming to you today to share my latest card for the Creative Colors Card Challenge.  We would love for you to play along with us, here is where to find it:
Creative Colors Challenge

As this challenge is the last for the year, our palette consists of holiday colors.  We had to use vintage green, deep red, white, and add glitter.  Here is the inspiration photo for our color palette:

Our sponsor for this challenge is DRS Designs and I picked a very pretty digi of a berry wreath.

Here is my card:

I layered printed card stock from The Paper Studio, 2 of the same Sissix die, white paper doilies, and then  two of the images from DRS Designs.  One was adhered directly to the card and the second was put on top of it with foam tape for dimension.  I colored some of the berries deep red and then added red stickles from my personal stash on top of them.  I used glossy accents on some of the berries and used Barbara Trombley's Ultra Fine Glitter #26 Angel Dust on top of those.  I added 2 small pieces of white lace in the corners and added white resin snowflakes on top of them. I glued white braided trim around all four corners and sprayed that with Tattered Angels Caper Green Glimmer Mist.  I made the bow with hunter green gross grain ribbon, a piece of lace that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Chalkboard Medallion, some ivory seam binding that was also sprayed, and a twig with white berries. I added 2 red buttons and three pieces of snowflake rhinestone and pearl bling to the underside of the bow.  The flowers are from the Secret Garden and were white, I painted them with Radiant Pearls Crimson Nights, added glitter when they were wet.  When dry, I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Barn Red Glimmer Mist.

I hope you enjoy my creation, please feel free to leave me a comment.  I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season!  Thank you all for the support you have shown me, and I look forward to sharing more with you from the Creative Colors Challenge in January!

Your CCC Designer,
Kim Norman
